Han Michelle is located in Seattle, WA in the Duwamish Territories. (I encourage you to check out this map and learn what indigenous lands you are inhabiting.)
This business is currently a one-woman-show! I love only being accountable to myself, as it grants me full creative freedom. The more you see my work, the more you will probably see that I greatly enjoy playing with bold colors and exploring the endless possibilities of shapes! My creative journey began at a young age with painting, dancing, and writing. More recently I have taken up photography, clay, embroidery, and weaving. My favorite art pieces I've made are ones that incorporate various mediums.
I am so honored and grateful that you chosen to take a look at my website. I am sending virtual hugs to all of you!
Background
This company first opened at the end of 2018 under the business name, Mossy Oak Studio. My initial vision was to sell my art and photography and donate a portion of the profits to a featured nonprofit each month. The first nonprofit I selected was the Million Hoodies Project for Justice. I didn't make any profits in 2018 or 2019, so I was unable to donate any money which left me feeling discouraged.
Since that time, I have learned more about running a small business and I know that my greatest weakness is marketing and social media. My hope for the remainder of 2020 and beyond is to re-start my initial vision of featuring a new nonprofit each month. In addition to shifting my business vision back towards a philanthropic lens, I have also re-branded my business name to Han Michelle. I feel this brand name better reflects all of the products I plan on offering: art prints, photography prints, and handmade jewelry.
